Our client was a major US manufacturer, who required advisory services concerning the optimal locations in Western Europe for the consolidation of their property portfolio.
The project included extensive research, analysis and subsequent recommendations on the configuration going forward.
Based on an in depth understanding of European location and data sources, we were able to provide the client with a broad perspective of the specific differences between cities and countries where they had been doing business, based on a range of quality and cost factors.
FDI & Trade Strategy
On behalf of a US EDO, we provided a full sector analysis, and developed a set of recommendations on the resourcing and organizational structure required to meet targets for both FDI and domestic investment attraction.
The project involved consultations with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority, development of a range of scenarios for implementation, and a suggested framework and decision making tree for optimal success.
Recommendations included definition of specific staff roles including a split between reactive and proactive work, as well as targets for project winning and an assigned budget.
Working on behalf of a group of IPAs, we delivered two training sessions of three days each. Topics covered FDI trends, investment promotion marketing, aftercare (business retention), strategic account management, branding, lead generation activities, use of social media, websites, and responding to investor inquiries.
By the end of the sessions, staff from the IPAs were equipped with a wide range of tools and techniques to enable them to effectively prospect and target companies that fit with their location's investor proposition.
